Pro Bowl Candidates

As the season nears the end, I will be discussing which players on the roster that have a realistic chance at the pro bowl. This is a 5 win Redskins team with a lot of talented players, I believe injuries were the ultimate downfall of this season. With that being said, let's dive in!

1: CB Kendall Fuller - Kendall Fuller has 41 tackles and 4 interceptions so far this season. He has allowed a 51.6 passer rating in coverage, which is the 5th best for corner backs, per pro football focus. We've been seeing serious strides in Fuller's game compared to last season. Last year, you could tell he had talent, awareness was the biggest issue. This year, he looks confident in himself and it's showing on the field. Fuller is establishing himself as an elite talent, hopefully he can be a staple of our secondary for the next decade.

2 : ILB Zach Brown - What do I really have to say to justify this? Zach Brown has been playing like a man that wants to get PAID this off season. Brown leads the league in tackles with 117, and he's been a force against the run. His sideline-to-sideline athleticism is something we've been lacking since London Fletcher played for us. Brown loves the game of football, he plays it with an intensity that not many other players possess. What makes this even more astonishing is that Brown has been playing through an Achilles injury the past month! I believe Brown is a lock for the pro-bowl.

3 : QB Kirk Cousins - Everything falling apart around Kirk Cousins would make it seem like his production would take a hit, but Kirk Cousins has continued to put up pro-bowl caliber numbers this season. He's proven time and time again that he is a franchise quarterback. No Jordan Reed, no Desean Jackson, no Pierre Garcon, no Sean McVay, inconsistent running game, crippled offensive line, yet he still finds himself playing at a high level. Lock him up for 5 years.

4 : RG Brandon Scherff - Brandon Scherff has established himself as one of the best offensive guards in the NFL. Pro football focus gave Brandon Scherff an 87.2 grade entering week 14, the fourth highest in the NFL for Guards. Once Scherff gets to the second level with a full head of steam, there isn't much you can do to keep him from plowing you over.

5 : LT Trent Williams - Trent Williams isn't having as good of a season as most are accustomed to seeing from him. This can be attributed to his knee, which has been bothering him for months now and will eventually require surgery, sidelining him for approximately 6-9 months. Despite needing this surgery, he has fought and played through this injury to help protect Kirk Cousins. Do I think he plays in the pro bowl? No. Do I think he gets an invite? Yes. He's Trent Williams.

6 : S D.J. Swearinger : D.J. Swearinger has brought some intensity and grit to this defense. He's been more than worth that 3 year, 13 million dollar contract, displaying his ball hawking abilities along with his devastating hit stick. D.J. Swearinger's personality would be perfect for the pro bowl as well. I don't think an invite to the pro bowl is inevitable, but I believe there's a real chance.

HONORABLE MENTIONS : CB Josh Norman, RT Morgan Moses, OLB Ryan Kerrigan, K Nick Rose.
