Round 1: Malik Jefferson, LB, Texas
All three of the Redskins' top Inside Linebackers are Free Agents in 2018. With Zach Brown likely the only one to get paid by the team, that leaves Mason Foster and Will Compton walking out the door and a big hole in the middle of the defense next to Brown. Enter Malik Jefferson. Jefferson was my favorite prospect early in the draft process and although he didn't retain that title, his addition to the defense would be huge. Jefferson has good sideline-to-sideline speed as well as being a great tackler. His coverage skills aren't perfect but they are better than what you would expect from a rookie. Jefferson is essentially Reuben Foster minus the off field concerns and injury worries. Sign me up for that.
Round 2: Deon Cain, WR, Clemson
We all saw it this year, the Redskins miss DeSean Jackson (and he probably misses us considering how big a train wreck the 2017 Buccaneers season was). Deon Cain is the best deep threat in this draft class, something the Redskins don't have on roster at this moment. While I would prefer the Redskins sign a veteran Receiver in Free Agency, none can take the top off a defense quite like Cain can. This pick would establish the Redskins receiving core for years to come as they can build around Josh Doctson, Cain, Ryan Grant and Jamison Crowder.
Round 3: Kalen Ballage, RB, Arizona State
Meet this year's Kareem Hunt. Ballage is someone who I'm expecting to be forgotten about in the draft process with all the big other names like Saquon Barkley, Derrius Guice, Bryce Love, etc. The Redskins haven't had a home run threat in the backfield since the great Clinton Portis. That was 8 years ago. As I mentioned in my previous mock, a home run RB is something the Redskins need. Ballage has the quality that no other RBs on roster possess.
Round 4: Lowell Lotulelei, DT, Utah
Round 5: Ryan Finley, QB, NC State
Round 6: Quadree Henderson, WR, Pittsburgh
Round 7: Ed Paris, CB, LSU
Round 7: Brendan Mahon, G, Penn State
